Where and how deilia is used in the New Testament
Matthew 8:26 HCSB – “But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, you of little faith? ” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea. And there was a great calm. ”
Mark 4:40 HCSB – “Then He said to them, “Why are you fearful? Do you still have no faith? ” ”
Revelation 21:8 HCSB – “But the cowards, unbelievers, vile, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars — their share will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.” “
My observations and perspective
In these three verses, two are Jesus asking his disciples why they were afraid, and one is a description of the types of persons who will be thrown into the lake of fire at the culmination of history. No mention is made of any saint being fearful of any church leader.
