“fear”

In some translations, “fear” is used similarly to, and in some cases, interchangeably with “respect”. Therefore, there may be some scriptures listed that don’t appear under one that appear on the other. One would do well to study both English words in tandem.

Here are all the greek words translated as fear in the New Testament:

Spoiler alert: Nowhere are any of the above words ever used in a context or teaching where believers are fearing a leader in the local assembly (church). Any fear of a leader is without scriptural basis and should be laid aside.
